Hey everybody,
I know, I know--yet again it has been awhile!! I was doing SOO good there for a little bit. Not that much exciting has been going on. Josh and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on May 15th. Josh's parents rented a condo down in Florida for the weekend, so after I got done with work on that Saturday we went to Florida and laid on the beach for the remainder of the weekend (I got a little too much sun :o) Oh well. we went out to the sand bar about 50 feet or so off shore (any further than that and shark attacks become much more common) but we went out to the sandbar and stood on it for 10-15 min. When we came back in, not 10 min later there were dolphins out swimming where we had been--just missed swimming with the dolphins. We also saw a flying fish--I'd never see on up close and it just about scared me to death--it ran into my leg, but it was really neat to see. We tried to scare him to make him fly but I guess we weren't scary enough, he just swam away.
We went and played Mini Golf too--the first game I won!! (The biggest score in golf always wins, right???) J/K. I lost big time, but the second game I got a hole in one (woo-hoo!!) and I actually won!! I think that's about a first for me--any of you that have seen me mini golf know this. There were all these itty bitty frogs around the course---no bigger than my pinkie nail, but man were they loud!! We just about crushed one of them on the green with the ball. And of course, the animal lover in me had to move the frog off the green, but it took me a while b/c I was scared to pick him up without squishing him!! I ended up just chasing him off. And the pond was full of tadpoles that almost looked as big as the full-grown frog! We also saw a cute little tree frog on one of the posts. ( I know, leave it to me to see all the animals while out playing golf) .
I also turned a 1/4 of a century old on the 20th--halfway to 50, man I'm getting old!!! We had a baptismal service at church, however, we don't have a baptismal in the church, so we go to Pastor's house to do them. They have a 4 foot deep above ground pool. 2 of pastor's children were baptised and two of our military pilot students were also. Afterward, they had a lunch for the singles, but Pastor invited us to stay so we had lunch and played table games and volleyball (yes I played and I didn't even hurt myself!!!) So it was a fun birthday. I also went out and bought scrapebooking stuff for my present from my mom--I can now finish our honeymoon scrapebook!!! That is a lot of fun, especially now that I have a table in my room and can use it! I'm still saving up money to buy paint for my room (it's gonna be blue and purple with an accent of lime green--I know out of character for me, but I think it will look good), but other things have been pressing for money lately--I don't know if that will ever change!! Oh well, God is faithful and we have enough. Actually we even have a little extra here and there (not a lot mind you, but some). We bought Kyylyn on of those cheap plastic kiddy pools ($11.88 at Wal-Mart!) so maybe he won't dig in our yard as much to cool off--he digs a hole and then lays in it. Josh's dad is less than thrilled about that--especially when it happens not only in our yard, but in his too!! So we thought maybe getting him a pool might help. So far he'll walk through it but that's about it--he's not quite sure what to think about having to step into the water--normally he just jumps in and swims!! But I think once he gets used to it he'll enjoy it. And if not--I already spent one Sunday afternoon sitting in it and reading my book!! Hey if I can't have a real pool or be close to the beach I will make do with what I have :o)
Well I think that's all the exciting news for now. (I know, I lead a very boring life!) Hopefully it won't be another month before I write again!!
