Here's some pics (hopefully) from our camping trip. We left on Friday a few weeks ago and came back Monday. We went to Wind Creek State Park on Lake Martin-the largest man-made lake in AL. We paid an extra 3 dollars to have a lake-side site--we put our tent right next to where the water should have been, but the water was anouther 60 feet down the beach. The lake was 14 feet low (maybe more by now). There were a lot of sites that had docks from them but with the water shortage the end of the docks were 50 feet from the water. The marina was the only place to get a boat in the water and they had added extra metal onto the docks so they still hit the water!!! It was very nice though. We had beautiful weather. One day the high hit 85 (I got sunburned sitting outside reading!) but the rest of the days were about 75 degrees--very nice. And the mornings were beautiful!!! Our tent faced out to the water, right where the sun rose. Josh insisted that we leave the window open and I'm glad he did, because it was a breathtaking view of the sunrise to wake up to!!! (some of the pictures are taken from inside the tent) It was nice and crisp in the morning--about 40 or 45 according to the thermostate on my bag. But here's some pics for you.
Oh, we didn't have a stovee, we had to "rough it" and use the old fashioned fire to cook. We ate well though. Pork chops; eggs, bacon and grits. It was really good (we couldn't have popcorn though--I was bummed) but we also had coffee--the old fashioned way. It was good!!!
